What a quality pulse should refuse
Not every chart belongs in the Monday quality review—some answers belong in ops tools alone.
A useful quality pulse protects attention. It refuses vanity counters that never change a decision, and it refuses to answer questions that need a pager, not a slide.
We ask stewards to name the decision each chart supports. If none exists, the chart leaves the pulse. If the decision needs raw logs, we point them there instead of inventing a summary that cannot hold.
Retainers work best when this refusal is written down. Otherwise every new job adds another tile until the review becomes a museum.
